Not Perfect

So, here's a sad story for you. This little guy is a Pine Island Chahoua. He's actually related to my other chewie, Beaker who you can see elsewhere in my gallery.

This little chewie, however has no name. He was born with a genetic deformity, which you can see in his back as a kinked spine (also, less visibly his tail is kinked, too). Despite all my best efforts I could not get this baby to eat, and he was getting very thin. I thought there may be internal deformities as well. I resorted to force-feeding to keep him alive, but I never gave him a name because I feared he would not make it.

Well there's good news now though! I am happy to say that after nearly 4 months of hanging by a thread he has finally started to eat on his own. It seems the little guy has found the will to live and I'm absolutely thrilled. He's just the sweetest, and I hope to have many updates on him in the future to post about!
